Frequently Asked Questions

>> Is Invu a paper archiving solution?

Although Invu is an excellent archiving tool this is just one very small part of what Invu can do.

>> Does Invu integrate with e-mail?

Yes, Invu integrates with any e-mail system that is MAPI complaint.

>> Which systems have Invu integrated to?

Invu has the ability to integrate too many systems in use today including SAP, JDEdwards, Sage and ACT. We have produced a “get connected” document which gives full details of these and many others. CodeFree Integration allows these connections to be made very rapidly to any Windows and emulated products. We also have an API / Com object which will allow more traditional integration projects to be undertaken.

>> Are the documents stored in the Invu system ?

The database stores the meta data and a separate database looks after the OCR indexes. Documents can also be stored in multiple locations allowing perhaps invoices to be on Server A and other documentation on Server B. At all times the documents are stored in their native file structure.

>> What is a typical scanned file size?

Typical A4 pages are about 35K (at 200 DPI) but if it''s multi page, high definition or colour the files will be larger.

>> What file formats will Invu support?

Invu supports all Windows file formats. The Invu system stores the document in its native format allowing the document to be viewed by the original application or a generic viewer.

>> What happens if you receive an e-mail with an attachment file type not recognised by Invu?

The file extension of the unknown file is recognised by Invu and automatically added as a file type in the Invu administration tool. The relevant application then automatically associated with it. If an application cannot be found on the computer a default application (e.g. quick view) will be associated.
